Product information

The study of the different aspects of three cases of genocide that took place in the last century: 1) the genocide of the Pontians by the Young Turks (1913-1923), 2) the Holocaust of the Jews of Thessaloniki by the Nazis during the occupation and 3) the genocide of the Yazidis in 2014. The book is based on talks presented at the Cultural Trauma Summer School in Lesbos in the summer of 2019. The broader methodological/theoretical perspective on which the volume is structured is that of "cultural trauma", developed by the American sociologist Jeffrey Alexander.
